2013 Fall Classic

The World Series is finally here, and we have a hell of a match-up set…

Cardinals vs Red Sox-

I could not be more exited about this match up we have in this years fall classic, and for a couple of reasons. First, these two teams who will be battling it out are much better to me than the Dodgers and Tigers match up, seeing as I dislike both those teams with a passion. Secondly, I like how both teams have played so far this postseason. The motivation these two clubs have played with, the passion and desire to get to the Series no matter what, to grow out beards for “Fear the Beard” and to trust a 22 year old rookie right hander in a possible deciding game is truly admirable. And lastly, its a rematch of the 2004 World Series. A series that the Red Sox would go on to sweep for their first championship in 88 years. So this should be one hell of a fall classic. But one team has to win, and I think that team is the team looking for revenge for what some may call an embarrassing sweep in the series 9 years ago, not only because the Red Sox hadn’t won a championship in 88 years, but also because the Cardinals were the best team in the league in 2004 with a jaw dropping record of 105-57. So, while most the players from both those 2004 teams aren’t on the 2013 Cardinals and Red Sox, I think the taste for revenge will lead St. Louis to their 11th championship in franchise history…

A stellar young pitching staff led by NLCS MVP Michael Wacha and flame throwing closer Trevor Rosenthal, along with a deadly lineup with hitters all over the place, most noticeably Carlos Beltran, who I think will have another huge series…

Cardinals beat a very confident Red Sox team in 6
